Episode 1 Gaslighting 101: The Ministry of Misinformation | THE JUDAS CIRCLE | When the Ones You Trust Try to Rebrand Your Trauma as Poetry | Thinking Out Loud | New Beginnings Impact Journal

Gaslighting 101: The Ministry of Misinformation

Episode 1: THE JUDAS CIRCLE -
When the Ones You Trust Try to Rebrand Your Trauma as Poetry.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He came and posted a soft message about life and classmates.
The Chief Gaslighter did.
He forgot to mention the part where he helped erase a man for 28 days…
and sent us all in the wrong directions to keep it that way.
He knows himself. They all know themselves, however many they be.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

They said he was fine.

They said he needed space.
They said,
“He’s not missing.
He’s just unwell.
Hes taking a well deserved 'rest'.”

And they said it with such calm confidence that you would almost believe it.

Until you realize it was all a game of smoke and mirrors.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Disappearance. A Wall of Silence. And Then… a Poem?
Engr. Tony vanished for 28 full days.
Not a word. Not a call. Not a trace.
His so-called friends... men who were supposed to be his brothers-in-arms, his “day ones”.... fed the rest of us a strange cocktail of delayed updates, false leads, and awkward laughter.
Then the truth began leaking through the cracks.
Behind the curtain of friendship lay a web of deception.
Some of the very people who were supposed to search for him were instead part of the cover-up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

They kept us chasing shadows… while Tony was behind a 12-foot wall in what he now describes as a drug rehabilitation center, not a hospital.
Definitely... not a holiday venue.

And just when we thought silence was their final act of betrayal…

One of them posted a poem.

"Same Room. Different Futures."

That was the title of the Chief Gaslighter’s post.
A slick piece of prose about classmates and life’s different paths.

> “We wore the same uniforms,” he wrote.
“We were marked by the same red pen.”

“Some of us carry titles like 'Doctor' or 'Entrepreneur.'
Others carry labels no exam prepared us for:
'Depressed,' 'Unemployed,' 'Gone too soon.'”

He ended with:

> “If you’re still here, still fighting, still showing up—
you are doing better than you think.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Hypocrisy Dripped Like Poison
How dare you write about people “gone too soon,”
when you were part of the silence that could have ended with a funeral?
How dare you tell others they’re “still writing their chapter,”
when you tried to rip the pages out of someone else's book?
How dare you post reflections on life and struggle,
when we had to dig, dig, and dig to find the truth about a man whose pain you helped bury?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We Watched You Rewrite the Narrative

We "heard" your phone calls. The gaslightings.

Three times, (in a meeting I was not invited to), he later mentioned MY name to gaslight me for no reason.

My crime?  I had encouraged a grown man to exercise his free will to convert a "burial" group, into a "friendship" group. Right there, in that moment, I guessed traces of deep rooted jealousy!

We all saw your WhatsApp messages.
We tracked all of your misdirections.
We felt the tension in our bones when you said,

 “Relax. He’s okay. Just give him time.”

Time? TIME...!!  Time???....

For 28 days, we thought we were on the same side, fighting for a friend.

Now we realize we had also been fighting against his Judas Circle.

This Is Not Just a Story.
It’s an Autopsy of Betrayal.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Love Beyond Stereotypes: Why Unconventional Marriages Still Spark Conversation | Thinking Out Loud | New Beginnings Impact Journal
Love Beyond Stereotypes: Why Unconventional Marriages Still Spark Conversation | Thinking Out Loud
By Yinka Dixon, PhD |
Queen of New Beginnings
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A short wedding video circulating online has reignited conversations about unconventional marriages and how society reacts to difference.

The clip shows a woman of average height marrying a man significantly shorter, bow-legged and visibly of a different physical stature..

Those details, some online captions have turned into jokes about “husbands being everywhere if you’re not looking for Mr Right.”

While many laughed, others paused to reflect on what love and commitment really mean.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The couple’s church wedding was projected to have been well attended, with bridesmaids, groomsmen and congregants visibly supportive and celebratory. Purportedly proof that, for those involved, love clearly outweighs societal expectations.
Yet the wider reaction raises questions:
1. Why do physical differences, disabilities or perceived social mismatches still attract ridicule in 2025?
2. How do media captions amplify bias, even unintentionally?
3. And what does this say about inclusion, respect and the right to private choices in public spaces?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Disability and inclusion advocates stress that marriage, like love itself, transcends body image and stereotypes.

The fact that people still feel entitled to mock or diminish couples who don’t “fit the picture” shows how much work remains to be done around representation and respect.

This wedding, rather than being a subject of mockery, could be seen as a celebration of resilience and an example of choosing love on one’s own terms.

In a world obsessed with appearances, it reminds us that compassion, respect and the freedom to choose remain critical values.

Gaslighting 101: The Ministry of Misinformation: THE JUDAS CIRCLE | 8-SERIES INTRODUCTION: Reflections on Adult Safety, Betrayal, and the Quiet Dangers Hidden in the Name of Care | Thinking Out Loud | New Beginnings Impact Journal

Gaslighting 101: The Ministry of Misinformation: The Judas Circle.
SERIES INTRODUCTION: Reflections on Adult Safety, Betrayal, and the Quiet Dangers Hidden in the Name of Care

Thinking Out Loud | New Beginnings Impact Journal
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why This Story Must Be Told
In every society, there are stories that are too uncomfortable to speak, and too dangerous to remain silent about.
This account is one of such.
AND THIS IS A TRUE STORY...
It happened to a 64 year old friend.
A retired, male, Engineer.
When 64 year old friend, Engr. Tony, disappeared, most people assumed it was a mental health episode.
In fact, they were told, and encouraged to believe it was a mental decline issue.
And many bought that spin.
But few dared to ask the questions about "who made the call, who held the keys, and who wrote the script?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This docu-drama series is not just about one man's 28-day disappearance.

It is about all the men and women, especially seniors, who have been:

1. Locked away without their consent.
2. Stripped of their voice through. legal manipulation.
3. Gaslighted by friends and family.
4. Silenced in the name of “care.”
5. Betrayed under the banner of “help."

And in some cases… never came back. Never were rescued. Never could escape.

This series is for them too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For 28 days, our friend vanished.
No goodbye. No warning. Just gone.
The silence that followed was not empty. It was engineered.
And those who held the truth, held unto it, very tightly, even in groups they jointly shared with Tony.
My own father suffered something similar in his older years.
He was trapped in systems that called themselves “care” but felt more like prisons.
I watched helplessly as decisions were made around him, not with him.
This is personal.
Too many elders are treated like burdens, not beings.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In my late father's case people (some "caring family") had phoned me to ask my permission for medication to ease his pain.
Some of that pain, they had caused.

I refused because palliative care has a purpose, and it should work in care.
But, they were in a hurry.
They said he's in "horrible pain."

I consulted many medical doctor friends for advice.
"Tell the doctors to Stabilise him!" was the advice.

Old age is not a pain.
It is a process right from birth.

In the end, they banded together.
Took the decision to preserve life-till-death, right out of my hands.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dad died at the hands of people who prided themselves as his carers.
He was removed and forcefully discharged from the safety of a private hospital.
The 80 year old sat for almost 24 hours in the lonely corridors of a State University Teaching Hospital.
Attached to his catheter and drip.
No food. No medication.
No change of cables or fluids.
I dare say, no change of private protective clothing.
They were "waiting for a bed."
The bed we paid for, in the private hospital was no longer good enough.
They had decided together, that this State hospital was the best facility.
My plea, severally, to leave him in the private hospital, fell on deaf ears.
When night came, they all left him there.
Alone, in the dark,  cold, and lonely corridors of an understaffed hospital.
Far from his big house.
Far from the warmth of his bed.
Removed from private care.
Denied basic love.
Left, without compassion or care.
They all went home to sleep.
Some slept in his house that night.
Everyone left him in that corridor.
They all turned off their phones.
Including their drivers.
Noone could be reached.
Hospital got him a bed next morning.
As his body rested, his heart did too.
Dad died mid-morning that same day.
June 12, 2016. "An old man" at 80.
Old age is sometimes victimised. Labelled. Treated with disdain.
But we will all get there if destiny allows it.
Seniors are scorned by people who have given up on life on behalf of the senior person.
In Tony's case, some asked me, severally.
"WHAT IS YOUR INTEREST IN THIS CASE?"
Dad too, was an Engineer.
Retired as Director in the civil service.
The actions of those who claimed to "care" broke his spirit before his body gave up.
They too, said they cared.
We now know it was control.
And the scramble for possessions.
I will never forget, even if I forgive.
The trauma of being helpless to defend my old man, remains, like yesterday.
As a "Designated Safeguarding Lead" under EU healthcare laws, the Duty of Care falls on me, and on EVERYONE around the care of a Vulnerable Adult or Children.
We have the training and powers to identify various forms of Abuse, (overt and covert), and the sacrosanct duty to identify and to torchlight instances (including perceived instances) of abuse, and to report under the "See Something, Say Something!," process.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

🚨 Why This Story Must Be Told.

This 8-part series is based on true events, that played out like drama, in broad daylight, right under our very noses, as Tony's friends were misinformed, some were gaslighted, and everyone sent generally, from pillar to post, in several wrong directions, to ensure Tony's location, and the grand deception to cover their tracks, was not easily uncovered.

It has been carefully crafted to:

1. Expose manipulation masked as love.
2. Hold family members and healthcare systems to much greater accountability.
3. Spark serious dialogue on adult safety and safeguarding.
4. Document what happens when good people look the other way.
5. Offer comfort, clarity, and courage to others who have suffered in silence.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
🎯 The Strategic goal
To expose, reflect, educate, and ignite dialogue around adult safeguarding and emotional gaslighting
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

🧠 This is More Than Just Tony

Tony's story is symbolic of a global problem... from Nigeria to the UK, from Ireland to the US:

1. Seniors being declared "incompetent" without due process.
2. Mental health systems used as tools of punishment, not healing.
3. Friends and siblings who quietly collude, then publicly pretend to care.

It’s about the abuse of trust.
The exploitation of age.
The weaponization of silence.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
✊🏾 What This Series Calls For:
Let’s be clear... Silence is not always neutral.
In safeguarding matters, silence can be violence. And “well-meaning friends” can become the greatest threat to vulnerable adults when they decide what’s best without consent or transparency.
We are not here to entertain.
This series is not about gossip.
We are here to provoke:
Public education....
On how mental health systems can be misused in the diaspora and at home.
Legal reforms....
To ensure no adult is institutionalized without transparent, external, and ethical review.
Safeguarding protocols...
To protect, not just children, but older adults who are often too proud or too isolated to cry out for help.
Family accountability...
So that care is no longer a cover for cruelty, control, or cash grabs.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

💬 Why Your Voice Matters

If you have ever:

1. Been silenced in the name of love.
2. Been locked up because someone "meant well."
3. Lost someone who never "truly came back" after being “cared for.”
4. Or, you simply believe in justice, accountability, and truth…

This series is for you.

Let us honor those who have suffered by refusing to stay silent.

> Because some disappearances are not by choice.
And some caretakers are not what they claim to be.

Have you ever witnessed a senior in tears? Or, refusing to speak?

Take them out on a drive, alone, away from the "care" givers claiming "love."
Listen to their concerns, when away from "care givers" and those who "love" them

Leave your comments below.
We'd love to know your experiences.
Let's join hands to care for our elderly.

We all are slowly getting old.

When a Migrant Vanishes The Silent Life Left Behind | Thinking Out Loud With Dr. Yinka Dixon | New Beginnings Impact Journal

When A Migrant Vanishes: The Silent Life Left Behind

When a Migrant Vanishes - The Silent Life Left Behind

By Dr. Yinka Dixon, PhD (hon)
Series: Thinking Out Loud With Dr. Yinka Dixon

She was here just four days ago.

Laughing gently, nodding politely with a bag of groceries in her hand.

By the weekend, she was gone.
No goodbye. No clue. No trace.
Just a quiet whisper from someone down the street:
“They picked her up… immigration.”

This is no fiction.

In the United States, mass deportation arrests are underway, with thousands of migrants being detained daily, often without prior notice or criminal charges.

Across the United Kingdom and Ireland, while these are less visible and more legally, constitutionally and procedurally managed, migrants still face detention, sudden legal removals, and the quiet disappearance from communities they’ve lived in for years.

Migrants are disappearing without warning.

Governments are setting arrest quotas.
In the U.S., 3,000 deportation arrests per day is now the target.

But while governments count cases, log arrests, and file reports, no one is tracking what’s left behind.

The Life That’s Left Behind

The real story here is not just about the detention or deportation.
It’s about the vacuum it creates.
  • A rented apartment with unpaid rent.
  • A car suddenly impounded or stolen.
  • A bank account no one can access.
  • Children left at school with no one to collect them.
  • A workplace wondering why “she didn’t show up.”

This is the quiet part no one talks about.

This is the real deportation.
The one that happens not just to a person, but to everything they built, owned, and loved.

A Migrant's Reality Abroad

Too many Migrants, including Nigerians abroad are undocumented, overstaying, or in legal limbo.

Several of them are not criminals.
They are caregivers.
Cleaners. Quiet tech workers.
Mothers. Uncles. Friends.

They don’t expect to be taken.
And when they are, everything else is taken too.

What You Must Do. Right Now

If you live abroad and your legal status is shaky, or you love someone in that situation, the time to act is now.

Here’s what you can do to protect yourself and your family:

1. Create an Emergency Folder:
Include ID copies, legal documents, bank access info, rent or mortgage details, guardianship letters, passwords.

2. Assign a Power of Attorney:
Choose someone you trust to act for you in case you’re detained.

3. Talk to Your Family:
Let them know your location, your plan, and your wishes.

4. Know Your Rights:
Always ask for a lawyer. Do not sign anything you don’t understand.

Because when it happens, it happens fast.
And silence is expensive.

We Must Talk About This

This is not about politics.
It’s about people.
And the price they pay for being invisible.

When a migrant vanishes, it’s not just the person that disappears.
It’s their children’s comfort.
Their paycheck.
Their home.
Their peace.
  • Let’s start the conversations that others are too afraid to have.
  • Let’s protect the lives behind the headlines.

📩 AVAILABLE NOW:

I created a QUICK CHECK-LIST for Migrants that may be at risk of emergency flight (aka deportation).

My family once had to leave the UK too. We opted for Voluntary Departure. We got two weeks to make our arrangements and we left.

In that process, we lost many things

I had already received approvals to start two Nursery Schools after two years of training and meeting all regulations.  One of the schools was located in Vauxhall. The other was in Croydon. (Long story).

While we tried to raise funds by getting rid of stuff, a lady I knew in church approached me. She wanted to buy the goodwill investment in the two schools for £2,000. That was a lot of money in those days, even if it was a very small fraction of the real value. She did not pay, and has not paid till date. She thought we would never return.

When I returned a few years later in 1996, she almost fainted when she saw me in the train station. She started explaining why she could not pay. She had changed the nursery schools into her name and tried to do some things.

Apparently,  the Councils had turned down her requests to deviate from the original  approvals which had taken me two years to secure... So, she gave up, according to her. In short, we were duped!

You CAN plan ahead if you can think clearly.

 Spotlight on Influence: The Story of Rotarian Victor Ojelabi

by Dr. Yinka Dixon | 31 Aug 2025

Introduction

In every generation, a few voices rise above the noise. Those are voices that do more than comment. They shape the conversations that matter.

Rotarian Victor Ojelabi is one of those voices. His journey into media began not with privilege, but with passion.

Victor is a trained mass communicator and graduate of Lagos State Polytechnic, with a commanding voice in pop culture, religion, politics, business, and entertainment. Renowned for his fearless writing and unapologetic honesty, he is never afraid to speak truth to power.

He cut his professional media teeth as a creative executive and professional writer at Fortune&Class Magazine under the tutelage of respected veteran journalist, Dr. Niyi Akinsiju. That early foundational mentorship blossomed into more than a decade-long career of impact in Nigerian media, business, and social advocacy.

A Creative Force in Media

Over the years, Victor has contributed to numerous high-profile and influential publications in Nigeria’s media space, including Marketing EdgeBrand Communicator, Global ExcellenceM2, and Metronews.

His work is defined by fearless honesty and creative depth - the kind of storytelling that doesn’t just inform but transforms public opinion.

In recognition of his impact, he was named Media Personality of the Year (2024) and emerged as first runner-up at the 2025 ADVAN Africa Awards.

Leadership at Iretura & Freelanews

As the head of Iretura Limited, a Lagos-based creative and media consultancy, Victor has redefined brand storytelling and positioned Iretura as a trusted ally for businesses seeking not just publicity, but influence.

He is also the visionary founder of TheFLEA Awards and publisher of Freelanews.com, a digital platform that has steadily grown since its 2011 launch.

By 2019, Freelanews secured its permanent domain, and in 2024, it was honoured with a Special Appreciation Award by the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce (NACC) for its contribution to impactful journalism.

A Heart for Service

But Victor’s story isn’t just about media.  It is also about humanity.

His path led him into the global network of Rotary International, where he has served in multiple leadership roles, leaving his mark at both the club and district levels.

From chairing the acclaimed “Brush Strokes of Hope” art exhibition at Radisson Blu Ikeja GRA, to co-chartering the Rotary Club of Ikeja Township, Victor has consistently used his creativity to advance Rotary’s mission of service.

He currently serves as Vice President and President-Elect of the club, as well as Secretary of the Public Image Committee at the District 9112 level.

His editorial contributions also extend continent-wide as Assistant Editor of the Rotary Africa Zone 22 Region 27 Magazine.

Olukemi’s Gift: How to Un-Nigerian Yourself Without A Name Change - Thinking Out Loud

Olukemi’s Gift: How to Un-Nigerian Yourself Without A Name Change (A Kemi Kakistocracy of Identity)

Kemi Badenoch’s recent declaration that she no longer identifies as Nigerian sparked a wave of reactions across the diaspora.

For me, it was a case study in identity, heritage, and the curious ways politics tries to rewrite personal history.... and the humour writes itself.

Once upon a time, in the curious kingdom of Westminster, there lived a woman called Olukemi - Gift of God.

Not just any gift, mind you. This was the kind of gift that comes wrapped in Yoruba vowels, sealed with ancestral stamps, and delivered with a history, longer than the River Niger.

But one sunny political morning, Olukemi - now Kemi Badenoch - told the world she had resigned from being Nigerian.

Yes, resigned. No resignation letter to the Nigerian High Commission. No press conference in Lagos. Just an elegant announcement on a British medium: “I no longer identify as Nigerian.”

She has not renewed her Nigerian passport for (plus or minus) 20 years. So, to be fair, in Nigerian immigration terms, that’s practically, a little over, two entire administrations, three airport renovations, and a handful of “Japa” waves.)

And yet… she remains KEMI.

A name so unapologetically Nigerian, it carries its own praise poetry: - like an Adekemi  (my crown’s gift), or an Oluwakemisola (the Lord pampers me with wealth), and, if we’re being linguistically playful, we might say... Kemi-Can’t-Delete-Her-Roots.

Colonial Passport Exchange

It’s the political equivalent of strolling casually into Heathrow’s imaginary Identity Duty-Free Shop: “Turn in your Nigerian passport here, collect your British self over there, mind the gap between ancestry and reality.”

Some even picture her browsing the Identity Duty-Free shop... trading jollof rice for fish and chips, and Yoruba proverbs for Westminster politeness and Parliamentary procedure, but still unable to hide the accent when annoyed.

The Name That Refused to Leave

Her new British identity is immaculate, crisp accent, a Cabinet seat, and a political posture so upright it could balance the Crown Jewels.
But every roll call, every headline, every campaign poster whispers: “Kemi… Kemi… Kemi…”

It’s the kind of name that instantly makes every Nigerian auntie reach for jollof rice and ask, “Who are your people?”

The "Name Amnesty" Proposal

Since she’s ‘renounced’ Nigeria, here's a proposal:
Perhaps the UK Home Office should create a Name Amnesty Scheme for such cases...  anyone wishing to fully un-Nigerian themselves must also return their Yoruba name to the Federal Name Registry in Lagos.“Please place your ‘Kemi’ in the collection tray, alongside your middle name and any unclaimed pepper soup recipes.”

This "DNA vs. Passport" Paradox

Science presents us with this stubborn truth: you can cancel a passport, but not your chromosomes. Even if you burn the flag, your melanin won’t care and won't obey Brexit.

As one fictional scientist put it: “We ran her ancestry test twice. It still says 'Yoruba'." Very stubborn DNA.”

Identity as a "Performance Art"

Kemi says she had a rough time at boarding school in Sagamu, likening it to prison.

(Many Nigerians will tell you that’s just standard hostel living - with mosquitoes (not as matron) but as the wardens. She recounts this as part of the reason she doesn’t feel connected anymore. Tough baloney!!

The "Sagamu Prison Break"

Kemi’s Great Escape: starring mosquito wardens, water-fetching sentences, and the daily roll call of boiled yam.

It could almost be a Nollywood prison drama: Kemi’s Great Escape. Complete with mosquito wardens, bucket-fetching punishments, and boiled yam served as both breakfast and emotional resilience training.

Nigerians would laugh knowingly, because for many students, that is "boarding school" life. The kind of life many students even look forward to....

Moving On... (very simple to do)

Kemi claims she's "moved on".. yet Nigeria remains in her speeches like a supporting actor she didn’t want to cast but can’t quite replace.

Her critiques keep Nigeria in the room.... even if she swears she’s moved to another house.

The "Diaspora’s Split-Screen" Reaction

In the grand amphitheatre of social media, the Nigerian diaspora had a field day:

  • Some applauded: “She’s just being real... claim the passport you use.”

  • Others sipped palm wine and muttered: “It’s not by passport. You can’t just ‘log out’ of DNA.”

The "Ghost of the WhatsApp" Auntie

Kemi is seen in the inescapable diaspora family group chat even after her public renunciation...

Somewhere, Auntie Bisi in Abeokuta is still sending her “Good Morning” GIFs, church flyers, and wedding invites.

“Aunty, please stop forwarding me ‘Nigerian Women Are the Best Wives’ videos ---- I’m British now.”

Political Spin Master’s Playbook

The ultimate identity politics rebrand... Political commentators noted the paradox:
She’s like a Nollywood star announcing retirement, then still showing up in every sequel.

Kemi didn’t just cross the floor ---- she crossed the continent, cut the ancestral cord, and kept the name for brand recognition.

Some observers think it’s less about renunciation and more about rebranding...  a clever identity politics move. She’s playing 4D chess: Nigeria becomes her go-to contrast tool when rallying the Tory base.

Kemi has made Nigeria her perfect contrast tool: the foil she needs to shine brighter in the Tory theatre. Not bad at all... Do we mind? Do we care?

Closing Scene

So here she is... Minister Kemi Badenoch. Nigerian by heritage, British by declaration, and globally trending by provocation.
She may have left Nigeria on paper, but Nigeria, like a persistent auntie, still keeps calling her name at the family meeting.

And somewhere.... somewhere in the Yoruba dictionary, under Olukemi, the definition remains: A gift... whether claimed, returned, or rebranded for the British market.

You Can’t Rename Melanin

Kemi can wear pearls instead of her ancestral coral beads, trade our nutritious Nigerian zobo for British tea, and embrace Big Ben souvenirs in place of her Zuma Rock fridge magnets, but beneath that winter coat, the sun of West Africa still sits quietly in her skin.

Kuwait Uncovers 108 Fake Citizenships Linked to a Single Syrian Family

Kuwait Uncovers 108 Fake Citizenships Linked to a Single Syrian Family
By Dr. Yinka Dixon, PhD | Editor-in-Chief, New Beginnings Impact Journal
2nd August 2025
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rare mass fraud raises tough questions about Gulf nationality systems and public trust.
Kuwait has stripped 108 individuals of their citizenship after uncovering a massive identity fraud operation allegedly orchestrated by a single Syrian family.
Authorities say forged documents and fabricated lineage records allowed dozens of individuals to illegally obtain Kuwaiti nationality, granting them access to state benefits, jobs, and social privileges reserved for citizens.
The case, described as “unprecedented in scale,” was exposed during a routine audit of civil records. Officials have pledged a “comprehensive review” of the country’s nationality registry to prevent similar abuses in the future.
This revelation is shaking public confidence and raising bigger questions:
1. How did one family manage to bypass official safeguards for so long?
2. What happens to those now stripped of nationality (and their children) overnight?
As Kuwait works to tighten its systems, this story is already triggering wider debates on identity, statelessness, and the vulnerability of citizenship frameworks across the Gulf.
Launch Thinking Out Loud With Dr. Yinka Dixon Series
Thinking Out Loud With Dr. Yinka Dixon
 ✍🏾 Thinking Out Loud With Dr. Yinka Dixon
Because some thoughts won’t wait for perfect grammar, polished hair, or political approval.
Because truth often hides in plain sight.
And life?
It’s lived on the margins of systems too neat to notice our tears.
I write because some stories won’t sit quietly.
  • Because sometimes, policy can bruise deeper than fists.
  • Because borders are not just fences!!  - Sometimes, they are funeral announcements dressed as paperwork.
  • And because someone has to whisper the headlines behind the headlines… before the whispers disappears.
🌍 Welcome to my new public interest series
(c) Thinking Out Loud With Dr. Yinka Dixon
No shouting. No panic. Just truth.
Maybe a sigh. Sometimes a scream.
But always, dignity.
  • Because silence is too expensive.
  • Because someone, somewhere, needs to read this before it’s their turn.
  • Because when I think, I don’t just think… I write.
🖋️ What to expect
This is not just opinion!!  It is observation, disruption, and dignity… out loud.
  • Sometimes calm.
  • Sometimes fiery.
  • Always honest.
Truth. Grit. Grace. All in one breath.
Fake Online Ads Target Micheál Martin and Other Irish Leaders in Deepfake Investment Scam Again
Beware: Scam Ads Using Micheál Martin's Image to Promote Fake Investments
Yinka Dixon ~ 15 July 2025
A concerning trend is resurfacing online!! Scam advertisements falsely claiming that the Irish Prime Minister, Micheál Martin is endorsing a so-called "lucrative" investment scheme.
This is entirely false.
In recent days, I came across one of these ads on social media. It was hosted on an obscure website with an image-heavy layout.
It featured headlines like “Martin’s latest move shocks the banks!” or “Ireland's Prime Minister urges citizens to invest now!”
This is a common scam tactic aimed at luring people into parting with their money. DON'T FALL FOR IT.
The ad linked to a page that mimicked legitimate news sites but pushed users to deposit funds into what appeared to be a crypto-based platform.
‼️ What is Really Happening?
These ads are part of a growing wave of deepfake and impersonation scams that exploit the names and images of high-profile figures.
They’re not endorsed by any government, politician, or legitimate financial institution.
Similar scams have misused other Irish leaders like Leo Varadkar, and even international public figures, to promote fake investment platforms.
🔎 The Facts
Micheál Martin has publicly disavowed any connection to these scams.
In 2023, he took legal action against Google to uncover those responsible for the fraudulent ads.
These scam ads have been viewed millions of times according to The Irish Times and Independent.ie.
The Garda National Economic Crime Bureau continues to warn the public about AI-generated scams.
🛡 How to Protect Yourself
Never trust investment ads with sensational headlines using celebrity or political endorsements.
If an ad urges urgency or guaranteed profits... it is a red flag.!!
Always check the domain name. Example: floridatwirling.com is not a credible news source.
Report scams to platforms like Facebook or via FraudSmart.ie.
💬 Final Thoughts
In our fast-moving digital age, scammers have learned to weaponize trust. But we can fight back with awareness, critical thinking, and community vigilance.
Let’s stay alert, share this information, and protect one another, especially our seniors, newcomers, and digital beginners.
🙌 And on a Final Note...
Micheál Martin is the current Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) since January 2025. He is a Fianna Fáil party politician who previously served as Taoiseach from 2020 to 2022, then as Tánaiste, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Minister for Defence from 2022 to 2025. He has led the Fianna Fáil party since 2011 and was Opposition Leader from 2011 to 2020. (Wikipedia).
